Particle Analysis

Technical cleanliness / residual dirt analysis e.g. according to VDA 19.1 / ISO 16232

We also can provide technical cleanliness analyses for you. This can be carried out in accordance with VDA 19.1 or ISO 16232 or adapted to your requirements. The following methods are available for evaluation:

Liquid particle counting (LPC) from 0.2 µm up to 20 µm
Scanning electron microscopy with EDX
Filter evaluation using optical microscopy (from approx. 15 µm)
Gravimetric analysis of filters
ICP-MS - also with determination of particle distribution and composition with single particle ICP-MS for particles from approx. 50 nm
Gas chromatography (for the determination of organic/film residues)

Particles in liquids

Using liquid particle counters (LPC), we can measure particle distributions in many chemicals and in (ultrapure) water (UPW). The measurable size range here is 0.2 µm - 20 µm.

We can detect particle contamination in ultrapure water samples from a size of 50 nm.

Particles in Air/Gases

We can directly detect particles in air or gases from 0.1 µm in size. For smaller particles we use condensation nucleus counters.

In order to be able to make statements about particle pollution and particle sources in your production, we can provide particle traps. These consist of an adhesive film to which particles moving in the air stick on. The particles present on the particle trap can then be examined microscopically.
